Īfter much input from the community and more research into the MIT license, we have decided that if we finish development on this project and deem it worthy of distribution, it will be distributed on GitHub with a detailed changelog and under the same MIT license as the code that inspired it, with no further limitations! We have been working on creating a custom port of an MIT licensed PS2 emulator for a while now. That can already be done, I believe, through something like Moonlight. Based on the communications you posted above, they admit they are simply streaming a PS2 emulator from a PC.

That to me sounds like the game is running on the Raspberry Pi 3 device. Onimusha - Dawn of Dreams played on an overclocked Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and recorded on an external game capture device. In their video description they state directly: Yes, their video description is VERY deceiving if the responses you posted are legitimate. This is simply not possible, at least for a majority of games, because the Pi line of devices are not strong enough to run the games. You are not very clear in what you are trying to say in your post above.įrom what I gathered, you thought the video showed a PS2 emulator on the Raspberry Pi 3. DamonPS2 is not the main theme of this post and i dont want it to be, i already left my opinion over this scam all over the Reddit and pointed to new proofs discovered on DamonPS2 Discord, being it a PCSX2 stolen work. The video pointed to a PS2 native ARM emulation, not a streaming solution, making me believe that maybe as a non english native speaker i read something wrong on that video's description because is was totally misleading.ĮDIT 2: Used the "" over "work" on DamonPS2 to somehow make a mention over my position on it. This post was opened because the answer i received didnt make too much sense for me. But maybe it would be posible over other more powerful ARM devices as a new answer to DamonPS2 without dealing with overclocking/heating.

I knew for sure this couldnt be posible as its on Rasp3. The proper description says that in this case the rasp3 was going on over his limits, so this pointed out to an ARM PS2 emulator extremly optimized and thats what i was expecting to see. I know PS2 emulation for years and i know what it takes to run it and even to code one new emulator. Should i feel idiot for not translating the original description / misunderstanding the video or did you guys got the same thoughts i got from it? Is really disappointing but maybe i got something wrong.ĮDIT: I apreciate your opinions but there's one thing i want to fix on what i wrote: i never expected PS2 emulation in Raspberr圓 like this over any game. They: "Yes, thank you for your interest and for reaching out but PCSX2, Play! and DamonPS2 are all fantastic emulators that would be tough to compete with without a dedicated team to work on it*." Me: " Oh, i expected that you were actually developing a PS2 emulator.

They: " It's just a standard ps2 emulator for windows PC combined with networking and streaming" Me: " But this emulator you are streaming is a native PS2 emulator done by your team or another known emulator?" Original question: " Hi, ive been wondering about any updated on this Project: Was it cancelled? Thanks!"įirst answer: " We have successfully developed a way to stream emulated ps2 games from a PC to the Raspberry Pi hardware but have determined it is physically impossible to emulate ps2 games natively on the hardware due to the limitations of the cpu" I understood they were developing some kind of enhanced PS2 emulator. And i felt like something was "lost in translation" when i read the original video's description. So, i was really curious about this project thinking they had something different in hands for PS2 Emulation that was able to beat the Damon PS2 "work".Īnd so, i emailed them yesterday.
